Some useful words/phrases for this blog:

Joseon: This is the royal kindgom which ruled Korea from 1392 C.E. until Korea was declared an empire in 1897 C.E.
Silla: This is a kingdom which was founded in southeathern Korea and lasted from 57 C.E. to 935 C.E.
-bong: this means peak in Korean (written in hanja as ‘峰’). For example, ‘Sunrise Peak’ is ‘Ilchulbong’.
-buk: this means ‘north’ (written in hanja as ‘北’). For example, North Gyeongsang Province is ‘Gyeongsang-buk do’.
-nam: this means ‘south’ (written in hanja as ‘南’). For example, South Jeolla Province is ‘Jeolla-nam do’.
-sa: this is the word for ‘temple’ in Korean (written in hanja as ‘寺’). For example, ‘Guin Temple’ is ‘Guinsa
-san: this means ‘mountain’ in Korean (written in hanja as ‘山’). For example, Mt. Seork is ‘Seoraksan’.
