The Caves of Sobaeksan

Sobaeksan has two limestone caves open to the public, Gosu cave and Cheongdong cave.

These are intimate little limestone caves – though long, they go through many narrow passages, and you *will* rub against the stone – particularly Cheongdong cave. And of course, get a close-up look at many wonderful little limestone formations.

Very cool.

Enjoy the photos!

Various little rock formations surround a shallow pool of water

Inside the darkness is a lit up little pool with the reflections of limestone formations within

Another shallow pool in the limtestone cave with reflections of fock formations on the surface

In the ceiling avove there are many crevies and unusual limstone shapes

Among the limestone formations hanging down is one which looks like the open mouth of a lion
